RNA – Speaking to Rasa News Agency at the 23rd Press and Media Exhibition in Tehran, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Abbas Mousavi-Motlaq responded to the issues which have recently been brought to light regarding one of his books, saying “Recently, some individuals tried to engage in political cleansing and revenge against me by taking parts of my writings and statements [out of context].”
The renowned teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom added, “These discussions are actually about academic issues in the field of religious knowledge and to bring it to the general level of society is an impious act.”
Hujjat al-Islam Mousavi-Motlaq stated, “These scientific discussions have existed from the beginning and for centuries there are and have been different discussions between jurists, philosophers, scholars of Islamic sciences, theologians, mystics and among different groups but using these discussions for the purposes of political cleansing is impious.”
He continued, “We have instances where we presented some of the terminology to one of the sources of emulation and he has stated that the statements are among the correct and definite principles of Shi’ism and another source of emulation has written that these are deviations and are not from the commandments which the Infallibles have passed down to us and they have precisely spoken in contradiction to these statements.”
The famous speaker said that main reason that this issue has been brought to light is that the adherents of the phenomenon known as “English Shi’ism” or “Mi6 Shi’ism” seek revenge against him because of his opposition to this Western-backed phenomenon and his criticisms of Hassan Allahyari, a San Diego, California-based cleric who promotes sedition among Muslims on his Ahl-e-Bait TV satellite channel, and noted, “The basis of this issue is based on our past position regarding English Shi’ism and began with the position that we had against Ahl-e-Bait TV and Allahyari.”
His Eminence stressed, “In addition to this, some domestic political movements are not reluctant to attack people and their goal is to overthrow the revolutionary forces and now it’s the opportunity for this servant.”
Hujjat al-Islam Mousavi-Motlaq pointed out, “I have clearly declared that I am a revolutionary and I have never surrendered to any domestic political movements and therefore, for this same reason, they haven’t deprived us.”
In the past few days, there has been discussion regarding controversial parts of one of Hujjat al-Islam Mousavi-Motlaq’s books. He has faced various accusations and various labels over his supposed political and religious beliefs.
He says he has discussed the various viewpoints regarding certain issues and they have been taken out of context or forged by certain individuals online.
