RNA – Speaking at his advanced jurisprudence class in Qom’s Grand Mosque on Wednesday, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity among Muslim countries and referred to the recent political rift among Iraqi politicians.
The revered source of emulation said, “Some disagreements have been created among our Iraqi brethren between different personalities. My message to our brothers and sisters in Iraq is to maintain their unity and solidarity.”
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi added, “Unfortunately, some minor Iraqi groups have formed alliances with the Saudi government.”
Addressing those Iraqi politicians who are seeking alliance with Saudi Arabia, he said, “Saudi Arabia is sponsoring Daesh terrorists in your country, they advocate the secession of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, how can you shake hands with them? This is truly unacceptable.”
The senior cleric further addressed Iraqi nation and authorities, “If you lose your unity and solidarity, your victories in recent months will also be lost. Iraq is in good conditions now and the remaining terrorists will soon be wiped off from Iraqi lands. Right now, you need to stand united until you reach the final victory.”
