RNA – Speaking at a meeting of some Iranian cultural activists abroad at the Imam Khomeyni Educational Research Institute, Ayatollah Abbas Ka’bi, a member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, emphasized the need for vigilance in the face of the evil plans of the enemies.
Condemning the “vicious and hostile statements” by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, against the Iranian nation in his October 14th speech, the renowned Iranian cleric argued, “The honourable people of Islamic Iran will continue their path by adhering to Wilayat al-Faqih [Guardianship of the Jurisprudent] and with power and strength and will not be intimidated by the enemies.”
In this speech, Trump maliciously and arrogantly outlined the United States’ strategy regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He refused to certify the JCPOA, which is an international nuclear agreement between Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and Germany, and warned he might ultimately terminate it, in defiance of other world powers and undermining a landmark victory of multilateral diplomacy.
Trump also said he would choose not to certify that Tehran is complying with the nuclear deal.
Ayatollah Ka’bi described the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as containing a great number of lessons for the Iranian people and government officials and emphasized, “The nuclear negotiations and the JCPOA proved that the enemies could not be trusted and that we must always be alert to their evil plans.”
Referring to the common positions taken by the United States and the European Union in regard to Iran, he stressed, “Europe plays a complementary role in American politics and the goal of the United States is to eradicate the Islamic Revolution and force the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran to gradually shrink from the red lines of the Revolution and we must not allow the European Union to deceive us.”
The representative of the people of Khuzestan province in the Assembly of Experts warned against the formation of another treaty similar to the JCPOA in regarding Iran’s missile program and defense industry and said, “The main target of the American government in imposing further pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran is to force us to retreat from our defensive plan.”
Ayatollah Ka’bi also warned against any further negotiations as any negotiations to supplement the current JCPOA would be the groundwork for a second and third JCPOA and the Americans and Israelis would seek to impose their views on human rights and the resistance in the agreement.
He pointed out, “This program is aimed at weakening the Islamic Resistance Front and undermining the regional power of the Islamic Revolution and the authorities should be vigilant in this regard and not show even a small amount of passivity or inaction.”
In another part of his remarks, His Eminence also referred to the developments in Iraq and explained his views on the American-Zionist sponsored independence referendum in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
