RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency on the sidelines of a passionate protest by scholars and seminarians of the Islamic Seminary of Qom in condemnation of the nonsensical statement of the arrogant leaders at Qom’s Feyziyeh Seminary on Tuesday, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi said, “We don’t take the statements uttered in the speech by the president of the United States [Donald Trump] seriously.”
The director of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran added, “The spirit of American dominance has always existed but its forms have been different. The nonsense spouted by the president of the United States indicates that he is a figure that has come from an evil background.”
“This magnificent gathering of passionate and revolutionary scholars and seminarians presents a message that the positions taken by [Trump] demonstrate the failure of the United States,” he added.
Ayatollah Arafi argued that the Americans have been pursuing a “new Middle East” over the past few years and added, “The arrogant powers, in particular the United States, had a number of plans at hand, most of which failed, contrary to what they had thought.”
The dean of al-Mustafa International University said, “It is natural that the enemies are angry with these defeats. The Islamic Seminary of Qom is awake and alive and stands with the dear and honest people of Iran and always moves on the path of combat against the enemies along with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] and the sources of emulation.”
Ayatollah Arafi emphasized, “The message of the magnificent presence of the scholars and seminarians of the Islamic Seminary of Qom at Feyziyeh Seminary is that the path to the salvation of the nation can is through a Resistance Culture and a Resistance Economy.”
On October 14th, Trump delivered a malicious and arrogant speech outlining the United States’ strategy regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He refused to certify the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which is an international nuclear agreement between Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and Germany, and warned he might ultimately terminate it, in defiance of other world powers and undermining a landmark victory of multilateral diplomacy.
Trump also said he would choose not to certify that Tehran is complying with the nuclear deal.
