RNA – In a meeting with a group of Russian thinkers residing in Iran that was held at the conference hall of the late Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Hoseyn Boroujerdi Library, Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad-Javad Alavi-Boroujerdi called Russia a country with an original civilization and stated, “The reason for the noble civilization in Russia is the presence of the Eastern Orthodox Church in this country. Muslims value the church and Christians.”
The senior cleric called the danger of extremist groups such as Daesh and al-Qaedah as one of the threats that endanger Russia and stressed on the importance of detecting and studying terrorist and extremist think tanks and their activities in Russia.
“Many of the young people fighting under the banner of Daesh are from Russia,” Ayatollah Alavi-Boroujerdi noted.
The seminary professor further said, “We hear satisfactory news regarding freedom of Muslims in Russia, but what is worrying is that unfortunately in Russia, mosques are built from the money of the Wahhabis and the Al Saud.”
Ayatollah Alavi-Boroujerdi added, “Wahhabism is a false sect that is condemned in Islam and Wahhabis aim to spread their dangerous thoughts in countries like Russia, therefore it is necessary to be very careful about the issue of the influence of Wahhabism.”
