RNA – Speaking at the first International Conference on the Implementation of the Islamic Unity Diplomacy Summit which was held at Tehran’s Azadi Hotel, Shaykh Zuhayr Ja’id, the head of the Lebanon’s Islamic Action Front, stated that unity is not limited to scholars only and added, “Unity should address all sections of the Islamic ummah. In fact the role of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought is clear.”
The Lebanese Sunni cleric added, “Today, the activities of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought go beyond the current situation and, thankfully we are also witnessing activities in the field of women and sports.”
Shaykh Ja’id emphasized, “Today, what is seen in the world, in addition to the struggle between religions, is a universal case against Islam. However, the Islamic Resistance has withstood these obstacles.”
He pointed out that the Islamic ummah today is facing a global project against Islam which the enemies have launched against the Islamic Resistance. Despite these efforts, the Islamic Resistance has emerged victorious from these imposed wars and this has led to the removal of obstacles between groups and sects.
His Eminence added, “When the flags of Hezbollah were raised in 2000 by the Grand Imam of al-Azhar [Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi] after the victory over the Zionists, these unifying scenes provoked the anger and indignation of the enemies and they began their plot to create sedition among Muslims by inciting Sunnis against Shi’ahs.”
Shaykh Ja’id said that the enemies also accused Iran of sectarianism and noted the preference by some Arabs for the Zionist entity over Iran is for no reason other than due to the fact that Iran is defending Islam and is standing against the Zionist-American project with all its power.
He stressed that the project of Islamic unity will triumph despite all the attempts against it.
The Lebanese cleric noted, “Today we must listen to the advice of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and we need to strive for unity and honesty so that we can be victorious.”
The head of the Lebanon’s Islamic Action Front added, “Sunnis and Shi’ahs are two souls in one body and we must put our efforts on the basis of Sunni and Shi’ah unity to establish joint universities and television networks. Today, many television channels are seeking to create divisions between religions and promote Wahhabism and for this reason, we need to establish a unifying network.”
In conclusion, Shaykh Ja’id said, “Iran is not just for Shi’ahs but rather it is an Islamic country for all Muslims. The Islamic world should have the belief that Sunni and Shi’ah scholars can take joint steps together because the victory can only be achieved through unity.”
