RNA – Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi participated in a public procession to commemorate the event of Ghadir Khumm which was held in Qom, Iran on Saturday, September 9th.
On the sidelines of this public gathering, the revered source of emulation highlighted the importance of Eid al-Ghadir saying, “This holiday is intended to commemorate the high position of Imamate and it serves to preserve Islam. The event of Ghadir Khumm is the main foundation of all events which took place following the demise of Prophet Muhammad, therefore it must never be marginalized or forgotten.”
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi hailed the people’s massive participation in this procession on Eid al-Ghadir, saying, “Fortunately, this great procession and celebration have been held this year, and after this we should have another magnificent festival.”
He concluded, “People must become familiar with the truth of Ghadir Khumm and we must celebrate this great holiday as magnificent and glorious as we can.”
