RNA – In a statement released on September 3rd, Bahrain’s al-Wafa Islamic Party thanked the Bahraini people for their mass participation in the “Repudiation of the Arrogant Powers” demonstrations and said, “These demonstrations are expressions of the vigilance of the people of Bahrain regarding the hostile role of the United States and the United Kingdom in the country.”

On August 28th, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Murtadha al-Sanadi, the head of the al-Wafa Islamic Party, issued a statement calling on the Bahraini people to express in a heartfelt, rational and practical method that they repudiate the Al Khalifah regime ruling over Bahrain and the supporters of this regime by participating in the demonstrations on August 31st.

This movement warned against the continued hostility and plots against the Bahraini people and other nations in the Middle East and the spread of sedition aimed at destroying the future of the societies.

In their statement, the al-Wafa Islamic Party said, “The plots by the American and British embassies to shut down the people’s movement in the name of fighting terrorism in Bahrain are useless.”

The Bahraini political group stated that some documents related to military and security commanders state that the Al Khalifah regime will announce a 50-page plan to combat terrorism in Bahrain and on this basis, all legal and political groups and resistant youths on the list of terrorists have been targeted.

They emphasized that the fight against terrorism has become an excuse to eliminate the Islamic Resistance and said that this conspiracy implies the failure of previous actions and plans against the Bahraini revolution and added, “In the struggle against this popular movement and the legitimate resistance of the people, the Al Khalifah regime has reached an impasse.”

The al-Wafa Islamic Party called on all opposition and active groups in the tiny Persian Gulf country to adopt a comprehensive strategy in the long-term battle against the Al Khalifah regime in order to combat the regime’s strategic plots against the Bahraini people and their revolution.

Bahrain, home to the US Navy’s 5th Fleet and an under-construction British naval base, has witnessed peaceful anti-regime protests against the systematic abuse of the Shia population and discrimination against them since 2011.

The Al Khalifah regime has responded to the protests with lethal force, which has drawn international criticism. Scores of people have lost their lives and hundreds of others sustained injuries or got arrested as a result of the regime’s crackdown.

The regime in Bahrain also received assistance from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on March 2011 as their respective troops were deployed to the island country to assist the regime in its crackdown against dissent.

The al-Wafa Islamic Party is a Bahraini movement that was founded in 2009. Abdul-Wahab Husayn is the movement’s leader.
