Ayatollah Sa’idi in Qom Eid al-Adha Sermon:
Rasa – The Friday prayer leader of Qom emphasized on the necessity for the Islamic ummah and Muslims to avoid placing their trust in the non-believers and in the hegemonic powers of the world.
Ayatollah Sa’idi

RNA – In his Eid al-Adha (Festival of the Sacrifice) sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah in Qom, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi said that the condition of the acceptance of one’s actions is the observance of piety and in reference to the importance of the Eid al-Adha and sacrifice on this day, he said, “By performing these actions, one can be brought closer to God.”

Referring to the martyrs of the shrine who are protecting the holy shrines of the Ahlul-Bayt in Iraq and Syria, the custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah added, “Today, the martyrs of the holy shrines, by imitating the prophets Abraham and Ishmael, are models of the sacrifices of the believers and have carried out great acts of bravery. One of the greatest sacrifices was the actions of martyr Mohsen Hojjaji.”

He said that in order to achieve happiness in the world and the Hereafter, we have to follow the path of the Ahlul-Bayt and obey their demands and said, “The true believer is the one who doesn’t hesitate to do anything in the way of God Almighty.”

Ayatollah Sa’idi said that the Islamic lunar month of Dhul-Hijjah is the month of imamate (leadership) and wilayah (guardianship) and, “One must strive in his actions to become the beloved of God Almighty and the one who reaches the rank of divine mercy has reached one of the highest stations and this authority has many effects for mankind but the condition for achieving this is to observe divine piety in one’s actions.”

His Eminence said that Eid al-Ghadir, which falls on September 10th this year, belongs to all human beings and is not limited to Shi’ah Muslims alone and noted, “In the month of Dhul-Hijjah, we have many occasions regarding imamate and guardianship and the peak of these occasions is Eid al-Ghadir.”

Referring to this year’s message from the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, to the Hajj pilgrims, he said, “Unfortunately, Islamic countries suffer from the problems of divisive movements, which must be given their due consideration. For this reason, the Supreme Leader considers the duties of the elite of the Islamic world to be heavy and important and insisted that these elites prevent the attacks on Islamic countries and stop them.”

Ayatollah Sa’idi stressed that Ayatollah Khamenei said that the defense of the oppressed Islamic nation of Palestine should be at the top of the agenda of Muslims and said, “The root of the deviations is that Muslims have acted on their religious duties against the attacks by the enemies and this is the cause of the insolence of the enemies.”

The Friday prayer leader of Qom called for the return of Islamic countries to the guidelines and instructions of the Quran and the Ahlul-Bayt and added, “The prosperity of all Muslims and the elimination of the problems of the Islamic world depends on the Islamic ummah acting on the orders of the Quran and Ahlul-Bayt.”

The Iranian scholar emphasized on the necessity for the Islamic ummah and Muslims to avoid placing their trust in the non-believers and in the hegemonic powers of the world and said, “Whenever we have trusted the hegemonic powers, we are seriously harmed. For this reason, we must recognize that trusting in the enemies and in the hegemonic world powers isn’t applicable to the Islamic ummah.”

Referring to some of the problems in the country, including marriage, Ayatollah Sa’idi added, “We should not go to extremes regarding dowries. On the other hand, sometimes dowries are so heavy that they cause problems. This is while Islam says that dowries should be low and reasonable. On the other hand, dowries must have a monetary value and the spiritual issues attached to it should also be discussed.”
