RNA – Hoseyn Jaberi-Ansari, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, visited Lebanon to visit the Muslim scholars of the country in the Beirut suburb of Haret Hrayk.
Iran is the Pioneer of the Islamic Resistance Axis
At the beginning of the meeting, Shaykh Ahmad al-Zayn, the chairman of the board of trustees of the Society of Muslim Scholars of Lebanon, said that this meeting represents the depth of the relationship between the Society of Muslim Scholars and the Islamic Republic of Iran and noted, “This country has always been an advocate for the issues of the Islamic ummah, especially the main issues of the Islamic world, Palestine.”
The Sunni cleric added, “We thank and appreciate the Islamic Republic of Iran for their constant support of Lebanon in various fields and we recognize this country’s actions in the framework of adherence to the issues of faith and humanity.”
Referring to Iran’s severe economic, political, and security pressures due to its support of the oppressed nations of the world, he said, “Iran is the pioneer of the Islamic Resistance Axis and today it is fighting against the terrorists and offering martyrs and injured soldiers in this manner. We are confident that the war with the Zionist enemies to liberate Palestine will end with our victory.”
The Palestinian Intifada is an Orphan
Jaberi-Ansari also described unity and brotherhood as the basic needs of the Islamic ummah at the current critical and precise stage and stated, “The positive and constructive role of the Society of Muslim Scholars has had a great influence in consolidating unity and solidarity among Muslims. For decades, the Islamic ummah has been harmed by the occupation of Palestine by the Zionist regime.”
The Iranian politician added, “The danger of the Zionist occupation continues and we now see that the Palestinian people alone rose up against the Zionist enemy. This uprising is still an orphan and many countries in the region have no regard for Palestine.”
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs emphasized, “Along with the historical danger of the Zionist regime, for several years now there has been a new threat which has been called a ‘radical terrorist ideology’ and armed groups in the form of the Islamic ummah have been created and are spreading corruption in the Arab and Islamic worlds.”
He emphasized that the claim that Takfiri groups are affiliated with Islam is a major insult to this religion and pointed out, “These groups are far from religion and we must work hand-in-hand with each other and fight these terrorist groups.”
The Use of Ayatollah Khamenei’s Guidelines to Combat Takfirism is Necessary
Hujjat al-Islam Shaykh Hasaan Abdullah, the head of the political council of the Society of Muslim Scholars, said more than 260 Shi’ah and Sunni scholars from all over Lebanon are members of the Society of Muslim Scholars and noted, “The Society was founded in 1982 with the aim of inviting people toward the original Muhammadan Islam and the religion of moderation, which is far from extremism, oppression and ignorance and calls the people toward Islamic unity as the only way to save the ummah and return to dignity and munificence and to assist all resistance movements against the occupiers in the world, in particular the Zionist regime.”
The Lebanese Sunni cleric added, “Since 1982, we have been supporting the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon and Palestine and we have achieved many successes along with the warriors. While the forces of the Islamic Resistance and the army are at war with the Takfiri terrorists, we are also on the intellectual side to explain the reality of original Muhammadan Islam and to demonstrate that this Takfiri ideology has nothing to do with Islam but rather they are trying to distort religion.”
He emphasized, “Our role after the end of the military operation will be to eliminate this pervasive ideology and this issue requires unity among the scholars and the use of the guidance of [the Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution] Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.”
Hujjat al-Islam Abdullah stated, “Just as we have used the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support to progress before, we also need the support, approval and assistance of this country now.”
