Rasa - Tehran's provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami blasted the western states, specially the US, for their biased policies towards human rights issues in different world countries.

RNA - Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the people on Tehran University campus on Friday, Ayatollah Khatami said, "We witnessed and heard how the racists killed and plundered; more amazingly US President (Donald Trump) who should protect the people's interests did not condemn these crimes: if this is not ignoring the human rights then what is?"

He noted that the US and some other so-called western advocates of human rights have black records of human rights themselves, and said, "The US is supporting the child-killing Israeli regime."

In relevant remarks in early July, Secretary of Iran’s Human Rights Council Mohammad Javad Larijani lashed out at the US for its fake slogans in support of human rights and its cooperation with Saudi Arabia as a child-killer regime in the region.

"The US is one of the most pretentious countries in defending human rights while the country's human rights record is awful," Larijani said in a press conference in Tehran.

He referred to US President Donald Trump's recent visit to Saudi Arabia where he called Riyadh Washington's regional ally, and said this is while the Saudi regime has killed thousands of people and children in Yemen.

Elsewhere, Larijani referred to British Prime Minister Theresa May's visit to Bahrain, and said she stressed support for the Manama government while the al-Khalifa regime is standing against a materialization of the Bahraini people's rights.
