RNA – Shaykh Maher Abdul-Razzaq, the head of Lebanon’s Reform and Election Movement, was at the head of a delegation of Lebanese Sunni clerics that met with Hezbollah’s deputy-secretary general, Hujjat al-Islam Naim Qasim.
The two sides discussed the latest developments in the region and in Lebanon and the military operations against the Takfiri terrorist threat.
After the meeting, Shaykh Abdul-Razzaq referred to the victories achieved by Hezbollah against Takfiri terrorist forces in Arsal and said, “We were honoured to meet with [Hujjat al-Islam] Shaykh Naim Qasim and we offer our congratulations the Islamic Resistance on the victories which they have achieved. We also commend Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah for the blood and sacrifices that the Resistance has given for the security and stability of Lebanon.”
The Lebanese Sunni cleric added, “The heroic forces of the Islamic Resistance have been able to grant the gift of the blessings of security and stability to Lebanon and it must be acknowledged that the achievements of the Islamic Resistance are entirely in line with the interests of the Lebanese people.”
Shaykh Abdul-Razzaq pointed out that terrorism is a danger to all and doesn’t distinguish between any ethnic groups or any of the various sections of the Lebanese people and stated, “The Islamic Resistance is the cause of the honour and dignity for all Lebanese people and all Lebanese people are happy with this great victory.”
The head of the Reformation and Unity Movement also saluted the Islamic Resistance on the release of a group of prisoners a few days ago and said, “The Islamic Resistance is liberating both the country’s territory and returning the prisoners to their homeland.”
A ceasefire agreement has been reached between Lebanon and the al-Nusrah Front regarding the withdrawal of al-Nusrah Front terrorists from the Syria-Lebanon border.
7,777 people are to leave Arsal and its outskirts as part of the agreement, which also includes the release of five Hezbollah fighters who had been captured by the al-Nusrah Front.
He stressed, “The Lebanese government must coordinate with the Lebanese army and the Syrian army to fight Daesh because it’s possible to achieve victory over Daesh through cooperation between these two armies.”
“Those who disagree with this coordination don’t want the Lebanese army to be victorious,” he added.
In conclusion, Shaykh Abdul-Razzaq remarked, “Anyone who wants the Lebanese army to achieve victory in the war on terrorism should refrain from obstructing them and should defend the coordination between the Islamic Resistance and the Syrian and Lebanese armies and adhere to the equation of the army, nation and Islamic Resistance.”
On August 4th, Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah has announced that Hezbollah has purged the town of Arsal, located on the border with Syria, from al-Nusrah Front terrorists.
The town had been a hotbed for Syrian militants since the onset of the Syrian uprising in 2011.
