RNA – Hujjat al-Islam Ali al-Khatib, the vice-chairman of the Supreme Islamic Shi’ah Council of Lebanon, offered his congratulations on the liberation of Arsal from the Takfiri terrorists by the Lebanese Islamic Resistance [Hezbollah] and national army forces, as well as on the liberation of the captives from the Islamic Resistance from the al-Nusrah Front, adding “The liberation of these captives is another dimension of the victory after the liberation of Arsal and the elimination of the threat of terrorism from this country.”
The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric stressed upon the importance of the Islamic Resistance to support Lebanon and said that the consolidation of the equation of the army, the nation and resistance in the recent wars has became completely apparent, especially as the Lebanese people have become united in support of the Islamic Resistance Forces and the army.
Hujjat al-Islam al-Khatib described the national consensus regarding the war against the Takfiri terrorists as a major development in the domestic arena and in the fight against foreign threats, and stated, “Lebanese politicians should also demonstrate more positive positions and avoid engaging in conflicts which harm Lebanon, which deface the country’s achievements and harm the country’s security and economy.”
He emphasized that everybody should benefit from these victories in order to achieve internal stability in the country and economic progress and solve many of the citizens’ problems.
In other remarks, Hujjat al-Islam al-Khatib congratulated Hasan Rouhani on his inauguration as the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed his hope that Iran would take even greater steps toward progress and stability than in the past.
On August 4th, Hezbollah announced that its forced had purged the town of Arsal on the border with Syria of al-Qaedah-linked Nusrah Front terrorists.
Hezbollah and the Lebanese and Syrian armies recently launched an offensive to drive out militants from their last stronghold in the border area between Lebanon and Syria.
