RNA – Speaking at the Flagbearers of Propagation Conference which was held in the presence of the professors, scholars and scholars of the Islamic Seminary of Maragheh, Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Khatami, a member of the board of directors of the Assembly of Experts, argued that through a massive cultural invasion, the enemies seek to strip Muslims of their Islamic identity, saying, “The enemies seek the cultural transformation of Muslims.”
The senior Iranian scholar argued that the soft war of enemies of the Islamic Revolution was imposed on a wide scale and for various purposes, saying, “The seminaries and clergy should not be indifferent to the movements of the enemies. We must seek answers to the insinuations of the obstinate media by observing the projection of doubts by the enemies.”
He said that educating seminarians to be familiar with media concepts and cyberspace activities is one of the most important missions of the seminary in the present era and stated, “The education of virtuous and cultured seminarians is a type of a cultural work to confront modern ignorance in the present era.”
Ayatollah Khatami pointing out that the education of seminarians corresponds to the production of capital to counteract the evil plans of the enemies, saying, “Given the conditions where the self-interested and obstinate media seek to undermine the dignity and standing of the clergy in society, the interest of the youth in studying in the seminaries of the country is significant.”
The temporary Friday prayer leader of Tehran said another one of the aims of the enemies of Islam and the Islamic Revolution to confront the intellectual and ideological influence of the principle of Wilayat al-Faqih in Islamic countries and added, “The enemies know well that the secret of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the continuation of revolutionary values after four decades is the adherence of the people to Wilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurisprudent). Thus, they put all their efforts into creating division between the Imam and the ummah.”
In another part of his speech, he pointed to the brilliant history of Islamic Seminaries of Iranian Azerbaijan and stated, “The role of the scholars of Azerbaijan in religious enlightenment and the promotion of Alawite culture is unique in history as Azerbaijan is known as the first capital of the Shi’ah world.”
Ayatollah Khatami introduced Allamah Abdol-Hoseyn Amini, Allamah Sayyed Mohammad-Hoseyn Tabataba’i and Allamah Mohammad-Taqi Ja’fari as brilliant stars of jurisprudence and as the jurisprudents of the Islamic Seminaries of Iranian Azerbaijan in the contemporary age.
He added, “The revival of the glorious history of the Islamic Seminaries of this region is an important need for all authorities of the seminaries of the provinces of Iranian Azerbaijan.”
Ayatollah Khatami also praised the valuable performance of the Friday prayer leader of Maragheh in reviving the historical seminaries of Maragheh County and said, “The men’s and women’s seminaries of Maragheh County have been very active and the academic success of this centre for religious studies has been remarkable in recent years.”
