Rasa – Hujjat al-Islam Yasin said, “How long will some groups stand like rocks against the military aid provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Lebanese army?”

RNA – According to a statement issued on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of Lebanese Army Day, Hujjat al-Islam Ali Yasin, the head of the Association of Scholars of Tyre, stated, “The coinciding of Army Day with the victory of the Islamic Resistance against the [Takfiri] terrorist groups in Arsal and the national celebrations to welcome the freed prisoners are the result of adherence to the golden equation of the army, nation and resistance.”

Lebanese Army Day is celebrated on August 1 and marks the day in 1945 when armed units of the Lebanese Armed Forces under French colonial control were to be handed over to the independent government of Lebanon.

The revered Lebanese Shi’ah cleric added, “Despite all the domestic political tensions and strife and Zionist and Takfiri terrorism in the region, the army was able to play a fundamental role, not only in supporting Lebanon, but also in cooperating with the Islamic Resistance.”

Hujjat al-Islam Yasin strongly condemned the cries against the victory over the Takfiri terrorists in Arsal, saying that these cries were aimed at harming the army which engaged in supporting the Islamic Resistance in the operation to liberate Arsal.

“In this operation, a great victory and achievement was recorded in the history of Lebanon,” the renowned cleric said.

He called on political groups to stop interfering in the country’s military affairs and making decisions for this military institution and added that any sort of distortion of the image of the Islamic Resistance during this crucial time is considered as national betrayal.

His Eminence spoke about American military aid to Lebanon, saying, “Running to the United States to appeal for assistance to the military has no effect because the American government supports the Zionist regime and Takfiri terrorist groups and will never allow a strong country in the region.”

Hujjat al-Islam Yasin pointed out, “How long will some groups stand like rocks against the military aid provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Lebanese army?”

The head of the Association of Scholars of Tyre stressed that the victory of Lebanon in the 2006 33-Day War against Israel, which prevented the Zionists from invading Lebanon and led to the release of captives, is now being repeated in the war with the Takfiris.

“This victory will be repeated against any enemy who wants to harm Lebanon,” he said.

In August 2014, the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham and Daesh Takfiri terrorist groups overran Arsal, killing a number of Lebanese forces. They took 30 soldiers hostage, most of whom have been released.

Hezbollah launched a week-long assault on the outskirts of both Arsal and the adjacent town of Flitah in Syria on July 21, seizing land in the rugged, mountainous area and killing about 150 terrorists.
