RNA - "The US' hostile measures aim at both violating the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in some way and also expand the scope of their unjust sanctions against Iran," Amoli Larijani said on Monday, addressing a meeting of senior judicial officials in Tehran.

The judiciary chief reiterated that Iran will not bow down to the enemies’ pressure and will not follow the trend of global hype in dealing with the US provocative moves against Tehran.

"Today more than ever, the Islamic Republic’s establishment and the Iranian nation are shining brilliantly in the region,” Amoli Larijani added.

Iran's judiciary chief went on to stress that all government, parliamentary and judiciary officials in Iran will make a united and firm response to the US hostile measures against the country.

His remarks came after approval of a US Congress bill which passed both houses with veto-proof majorities and includes new sanctions against Iran, Russia and North Korea.

Lawmakers in the House of Representatives passed their version of the bill 419-3 on Tuesday, while the Senate voted 98-2 to send the legislation to Trump's desk.

The White House announced that President Trump intends to sign legislation imposing new sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea.

In response, Rapporteur of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini announced on Saturday that the Commission has unanimously approved the generalities of a single-urgency bill to confront the US sanctions in an extraordinary meeting.

Also, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi announced that the country will certainly reciprocate the US congress approval to impose new sanctions against Tehran in violation of the 2015 nuclear deal.

"The recent measure by the US congress is a hostile move and the Islamic Republic of Iran will certainly adopt a decisive measure against it," Araqchi said after holding a meeting with members of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission in Tehran.

Noting that the US legislation violated articles 26, 28 and 29 of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers), he said, "Therefore, there is a need for Iran's reciprocal action."
