RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Mirzaei said that one of the most important obligations of Islam is the Hajj pilgrimage and added, “Hajj is a divine duty which plays a very important role in the transcendence of the souls and spirituality of Muslims.”

The expert on Hajj said that the annual Muslim pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah is one of the best forms of communication among Muslims, “In this huge gathering, Islamic thoughts and ideas are exchanged among Muslims. Every year, Muslims from around the world gather together to perform this divine command and become familiar with each others’ culture.”

Hujjat al-Islam Mirzaei continued, “Hajj is the form of worship in which all worship lies. The Muslims of the world understand coexistence while gathered together during the Hajj. The lessons of sacrifice, courage, unity, empathy and tawalla [loving the Ahlul-Bayt] and tabarra [disassociation with those who oppose God] lies in Hajj.”

Referring to the security that Hajj creates in Islamic societies, the adviser to the parliamentary affairs of the secretariat of the High Council of Free and Special Economic Affairs emphasized, “Both Muslims and the people of the world become familiar with the thoughts of Muslims during the Hajj and the misconceptions that exist among individuals are changed. Certainly, Hajj is the largest field for the propagation of the religion of Islam.”

He emphasized that one of the preconditions for the formation of a united Islamic ummah is the Hajj and stated, “The connection between the Muslims of the world is due to the Hajj and such a gathering is unique in the world.”

Hujjat al-Islam Mirzaei stated that the first and simplest way of communicating between Muslims in the world is through the Hajj and added, “It is clear that Islam does not recognize any geographical boundaries. Wherever Muslims are present and dominant, it is considered as an Islamic region.”

The expert in Hajj and pilgrimage affairs said, “Unfortunately, Hajj, which is the most important factor for the unity of Muslims, has fallen into the hands of incompetent individuals, while Muslims from all over the world focus on a single axis and act in the same form and no one has the right to prevent Muslims from performing such a divine command.”

The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah, the holiest city for Muslims, and a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey, and can support their family during their absence.

This year the Hajj begins on August 30.
