RNA – In a meeting with a group of scholars and staff of the Islamic Seminary of Qom, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani appreciated the widespread presence of people in the International Day of al-Quds marches and said, “The presence of people on the al-Quds Day in different cities in the hot weather and while fasting delivers an important message.”
al-Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadan that was initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 to express support for the Palestinians and oppose Zionism and Israel, as well as Israel’s occupation of Jerusalem and Jewish settlements in Israeli-occupied territories.
The revered source of emulation stressed, “The most important message is that the fight against the Zionists and its creators will continue until Israel is obliterated.”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stated that Islam has never been defined by geographical boundaries but rather, in the words of Imam Ali, it has been explained that support for the oppressed and enmity towards oppression doesn’t acknowledge any borders and added, “Today, I see that the will of the Imam is embraced in most countries and the people have participated in the al-Quds Day rallies, have participated in a glorious manner.”
He stated that al-Quds Day is “a day of unity and solidarity” and noted, “Today, is a day of service to the people and in the era of the occultation of Imam al-Mahdi, this unity must be around the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei]. These are not only slogans but rather they are serious religious beliefs.”
His Eminence continued, saying, “We call on all, especially the authorities, to spend all their time serving the people and to give attention to the needs of the people, to avoid marginalization, to practice the words of the Leader, to pursue production and employment and to help Islamic Iran to achieve its transcendent aims that the Leader has delineated with all ones’ efforts.”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani considered it necessary to explain cultural issues and to pursue them and said, “Seminary students and staff members of the Islamic Seminary, as well as university students, should advocate the pursuit of political, cultural and social issues within the framework of the law.”
The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom added, “For example, the Leader and the sources of emulation spoke out against the issue of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and ultimately, it was canceled but this cancellation should have been announced before it was issued to prevent further action.”
He emphasized, “The spirit of demand leads to the development of society and the authorities must respond accurately and issues, such as astronomical salaries, must not remain unanswered.”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani also condemned the multiple bloody terrorist attacks in the Pakistani cities of Quetta, Karachi and Parachinar in which 91 people were killed and 281 people were injured, many critically.
