RNA – Speaking at Qom’s Imam al-Kadhim Seminary on the 19th night of Ramadhan, which marks Laylat al-Qadr or the Night of Power, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi referred to the June 7 attacks in the Iranian, Tehran, and said, “Various countries expressed their condolences over the brutal attacks but when mankind’s conscience fails, they become like an American politician.”

Last Wednesday, the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group launched two almost simultaneous
assaults on Iran’s parliament and the mausoleum of the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeyni, which killed 17 people and injured over 50 others.

Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said some American statesmen have said that these two incidents were positive events and expressed their happiness over their occurrence.

On Thursday, Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) praised the recent Daesh attacks in Tehran as a “good thing” and suggested that maybe the United States should work with the Takfiri terrorist organization.

In this regard, the revered source of emulation said, “This poor and the miserly person could have seized the opportunity to ease the tension between the two countries and express his condolences to reduce the tensions but these undignified words have increased the Iranian peoples’ hatred toward the US today more than ever before.”

“Could anyone who was an iota of conscience make such a statement? When there is no conscience, there also is no reason,” he added.

In other remarks, Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said people must inwardly be preachers and awaken their consciences. The torture of conscience when doing an incorrect action forces mankind to make amends and seeking repentance from sins is acceptable if future good deeds can compensate bad deeds of the past.
