RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Abolqasem Yaqoubi, the representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in North Khorasan province referred to the terrorist attacks in Tehran and offered his condolences to the families of the martyrs.
At least 17 people were killed and more than 50 injured in the near-simultaneous assaults on the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran (Parliament) and the Holy Shrine of Imam Khomeyni in the Iranian capital of Tehran which the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group later claimed responsibility for.
The Friday prayer leader of Bojnourd said the attack on Tehran was a surprise and was not unexpected because the enemies and terrorists had tried for years to enter Iran and create insecurity in the country but they had been unsuccessful.
He added, “In the words of the Supreme Leader, ‘now the terrorists have ignited fireworks in our country but this is also a warning that we must prevent and anticipate to fortify the Islamic Republic which, until now, has enjoyed security in the true sense of the world and has been protected. For this reason, safety also remains.’”
Hujjat al-Islam Yaqoubi said the security is an important and basic issue for Iran and is the platform for a prosperous economy, successful politics and a healthy culture. For this reason, all the people and officials need to protect and improve it by working in solidarity and communion with each other.
The chairman of the General Cultural Council of North Khorasan province said, “Regarding security issues, including the blind terrorist attacks, the enemies have no other method besides the creation of dissension because of the existence and dignity of the state and wilayah (guardianship) in Iran.”
He added that regarding Wednesday’s twin terrorist attacks on Tehran, both the military and security forces reacted well and while the terrorists had planned for a larger gathering, the vigilance and timely presence of officers made it such that they couldn’t achieve their goals.
Hujjat al-Islam Yaqoubi said despite the terrorist attacks in Tehran, our security forces were alert and prepared and from now on, they must be more prepared, stronger and better equipped.
The chairman of the Provincial Council of Seminaries of North Khorasan said, “These terrorist attacks are not greater than those which we experienced in the 1980s – we did not have experience at that time – but now we have experience and are much stronger and we must protect this authority, unity and solidarity.”
Hujjat al-Islam Yaqoubi said that if we have unity and harmony, the enemies will not be able to penetrate the steel walls of the ummah and added, “The terrorists are termites and penetrate through empty points. For this reason, if the foundations are firm, they will not have the ability to penetrate them and therefore, should pay attention to the guidance of the Supreme Leaders and strengthen these foundations.”
