RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Mahmoud Rajabi spoke in honour of the memory of Imam Sayyed Ruhollah Khomeyni, the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Revolution and said, “The element and the principle axis of the content, format and tone of the explanations of the Imam was his belief and firm faith in God and the divine promises and the undertaking of divine duties.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom added that Imam Khomeyni saw God’s support of his uprising and never bowed down to the imperialist powers and their agents.
“For this reason, he said with complete power that ‘America can’t do a damned thing,’” he said.
Ayatollah Rajabi said that Imam Khomeyni said, “The more you shout, you will defeat the United States” and added, “In his speeches regarding 15 Khordad [June 5, 1963] and other speeches, Imam Khomeyni addressed the Shah with complete authority and said that he would be expelled from the country. These statements can’t be made except with a belief in a strong power which is greater than all powers.”
He added that this kind of powerful position emanates from faith in God and divine promises and the Imam’s openness and honesty with the people is also based on this and said, “The Imam sincerely trusted the people and talked to them and what he said was nothing but honesty, purity and the truth.”
The Iranian cleric said that Imam Khomeyni had a good opinion of God Almighty and said, “He knew when God promises something, he will fulfill it. For this reason, he said throughout his whole movement that he wasn’t afraid. He advised that whoever takes God into consideration, he will always avoid his self-desires.”
Ayatollah Rajabi said, “If the frontispiece of the statements of Imam Khomeyni was anti-imperialism, now the people have to make this the frontispiece of their actions. If defense of the values of Islam was one of the Imam’s principles, which he was never ready to compromise over, this is the way it should be.”
“The heart of the Imam beat for the deprived. If the hearts of the people beat for the deprived, this demonstrates that they are on the path of the Imam,” he said.
Ayatollah Rajabi said that if some people chose an aristocratic lifestyle and defend astronomical salaries, they cannot fight against economic corruption. Those who trust in foreigners and believe that they can solve our problems definitely cannot profess to follow the Imam.
“If they say that the foremost slogans of the Islamic Revolution should be abandoned and we should interact with the enemies of Islam and the imperialists in a peaceful manner, they are on definitely not the path of the Imam,” he said.
He explained that following Wilayat al-Faqih [Guardianship of the Jurisprudent] in a practical manner is following the path of Imam Khomeyni, saying, “The Imam called on us to support Wilayat al-Faqih so that our country isn’t harmed and those who are indifferent to practicing the guidelines of the Supreme Leader and act in opposition to his actions are certainly acting against the policies of the Imam.”
