RNA – Three senior Bahraini scholar visited the home of Ayatollah Isa Qasim, the spiritual leader of Bahraini’s Shi’ah majority, despite the siege on his house by Al Khalifah regime, and met with him.

Ayatollah Sayyid Abdullah al-Ghurayfi, Ayatollah Muhammad al-Sanqour and Ayatollah Muhammad-Saleh al-Ruba’i visited Ayatollah Qasim at his home in the town of Diraz and were the first people to break the siege on the home of this great scholar after the attack by the forces of the Al Khalifah regime on Tuesday.

Those scholars became aware of the latest state of Ayatollah Qasim’s health and at the end of the meeting, they announced that the physical condition of His Eminence is very good.

The meeting lasted for half an hour and is said to have been authorized by the government.

On May 23, Bahraini forces raided the village of Diraz, which has been under a military siege for almost a year, and stormed the home of Ayatollah Qasim, the spiritual leader of Bahrain’s Shi’ah majority.

Regime forces killed at least five demonstrators, wounded dozens and arrested over 280 people during the brutal crackdown.

The fresh wave of anti-regime protests broke out on May 21, when a Bahraini court convicted Ayatollah Qasim of illegal collection of funds and money laundering. The cleric was sentenced to one year in jail and ordered to pay $265,266 in fines.

The town of Diraz is in a complete militarized state and the entrance of the town is full of checkpoints and the home of Ayatollah Isa Qasim is completely surrounded by security forces.

The regime’s security forces only allow people to enter Diraz who’s identity cards demonstrate that they live in that region and don’t give permission for other citizens to enter.
