RNA – Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, the chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, has condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Baghdad which killed at least 27 innocent people and injuring 100 others.

The first blast took place outside a popular ice cream shop in the predominantly Shi’ah district of Karradah in Baghdad early on Tuesday, killing 16 people.

The second blast struck near Iraq’s retirement agency also on Tuesday. That blast left 11 people dead. Two Iraqi policemen were among those killed.

The Takfiri Daesh terrorist group claimed responsibility for the bombing, with its affiliated Amaq outlet saying a bomber had targeted a “gathering of Shi’ahs.”

The message reads:

In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The month of Ramadhan, when people are busy worshiping God and the security forces have imposed heavy pressure on Daesh forces on the battlefields of western Mosul, these terrorists have resorted to killing innocent people.

The terrorist attacks in the area of Karradah and in al-Shuhada Bridge represents the evil and disgraceful faces of the terrorists.

The security forces in Baghdad and other cities must to be alert in regard to the movements of terrorist organizations so that we do not witness such events.

The final victory over terrorism is near and we pray God has mercy on those martyred during these terrorist attacks and grants those injured a swift recovery.
