RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Habibollah Mehmannavaz, the representative of the people of North Khorasan province in the Assembly of Experts, referred to the importance of the people making an intelligent and qualitative choice in the May 19th Iranian presidential and city and village council elections and added, “In the presidential elections, the people must vote for a candidate who has a program and a will to eliminate the economic and employment problems in the country.”
Referring to the current government’s performance in regard to support of manufacturers and domestic production and efforts to increase employment, he said, “If the provisions and principles of the Resistance Economy are fully implemented in the country, there is no doubt that many of the current shortcomings will be overcome.”
The Iranian cleric added that regardless of who is elected as the twelfth president of the country, the most important approach of the next administration government must be to improve the livelihoods of the people and implement the Resistance Economy.
Ayatollah Mehmannavaz added that by managing and optimizing energy consumption in industry and small and medium enterprises, the government can lay the groundwork to end the current economic recession because Iran has many various sources of energy such as oil, gas and mineral resources which can lead to great progress a lot in various fields, including in regard to science and technology and so on.
He added that in terms of energy and mineral resources, Iran has a special place in the region and the world and if these resources are properly managed, the country can rely on its natural resources, vast wealth of human resources and its ability achieve self-sufficiency and solve the economic recession.
The member of the fourth term of the Assembly of Experts (2007–2016) specified that the government has to strive to provide a healthy atmosphere for business and offer unconditional support to society during the current recession by placing hope in the hands of the Iranian people.
“Unless we act in regard to the guidelines of the Supreme Leader, the realization of the Resistance Economy is not possible,” he stressed.
Ayatollah Mehmannavaz noted that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, stressed that the Resistance Economy must be implemented by both the government and private sectors and added, “The [title of the] year of ‘Resistance Economy: Production and Employment’ was announced as a legal and religious order by the Supreme Leader and is not only a slogan of the year of the year 1396.”
The representative of the people of North Khorasan province in the Assembly of Experts said, “Yearly titles are determined each year by the Supreme Leader and are issued as a legal ruling by the Guardian-Jurist and the people and officials should seriously pursue their implementation.”
