RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf’s al-Fatimiyah al-Kubra Husayniyah, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadruddin al-Qubanchi thanked and appreciated the Iraqi army for their liberation of the southern parts of the city of Mosul and added, “Members of the Popular Mobilization Forces were able to liberate the village of al-Hadhr within 48 hours from the filth of the Daesh Takfiri terrorists.”
The Iraqi scholar added that a few areas still remain under the occupation of Daesh forces and in the near future, Iraq will be freed from the clutches of the terrorists.
“The armed forces and Popular Mobilization Forces must strive to liberate the village of Tal Afar,” he added.
Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi also noted, “Turkmen, who are Shi’ahs, are demanding the liberation of their areas and therefore, they have given many martyrs in this cause.”
His Eminence described the selection of Basrah as the economic capital as a “good action” and said, “We must acknowledge and thank the Iraqi parliament for passing this law as such an action is in the interest of the people of Basrah and the Iraqi people.”
On Thursday, Iraq’s parliament voted unanimously to consider the oil-rich province of Basrah as Iraq’s economic capital.
In another part of his sermon, Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi offered his congratulations on the installation of the new dharih (sepulcher) in the Holy Askariayn Shrine in Samarra, which contains the burial sites of the 10th and 11th Imams, Ali al-Hadi and Hasan al-Askari, and noted, “Eleven years after destruction of Holy Askariayn Shrine, the dharih was installed, which indicates the development of security and stability in Samarra.”
In one of the bitterest days for Shi’ah Muslims, the dome of the holy shrine was destroyed in a bombing by Takfiri terrorists on February 22, 2006 and its two remaining minarets were destroyed in another bombing on June 13, 2007.
Najaf’s Friday prayer leader condemned the Turkish airstrikes on positions held by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) on Mount Sinjar on April 25th, saying, “Turkey’s actions were a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and such actions are unacceptable in terms of international law.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi also condemned the Israeli airstrike on Damascus International Airport on April 27 and the silence of the Arab countries and said, “This attack demonstrated the Zionist regime’s complicity and alliance with Daesh.”
Israeli officials saying the strike was in line with an established policy to target weapons depots belonging to the Lebanese Islamic Resistance movement Hezbollah, a main ally of the Syrian government in its fight against Takfiri militants.
