RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf’s al-Fatimiyah al-Kubra Husayniyah, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadruddin al-Qubanchi referred to the ongoing operation to liberate western Mosul and Nineveh Governorate said, “We appreciate the efforts and sacrifices of the Iraqi fighters in the fight against Daesh in western Nineveh Governorate and thank them for their liberation of the occupied territories last week.”

The Iraqi scholar described the complete liberation of Iraq from the filth of terrorism as “close” and added, “More than 60% of the territory of western Nineveh Governorate has been liberated from the clutches of the Daesh Takfiri terrorists.”

Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi thanked the security forces for their patience and added, “Slow and long-term progress is better than a humanitarian disaster and damage to the warriors.”

In another part of his Friday Prayers sermon, he condemned last Friday’s terrorist attacks carried out against two Coptic churches in the Egyptian cities of Tanta and Alexandria by Daesh terrorists and explained, “Such actions are against the spirit of Islam and humanity.”

The Iraqi cleric said that the world is in a state of uncertainty and explained, “With the foolish attack by the United States on Syria’s al-Sha’yrat Airbase and its threats against North Korea, the future of the world is in currently in a state of vagueness.”

Last Friday, in an act contrary to international law, the Americans launched 59 Tomahawk missiles from the USS Ross and USS Porter warships against the al-Sha’yrat Airbase near the Syrian city of Homs.

Also, the US has threatened to attack North Korea over the East Asian country’s numerous nuclear and missile tests.

Referring to the 14th anniversary of the overthrow of the Ba’athist regime in Iraq, Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi said, “Saddam’s actions and crimes, including the mass graves, his killing of more than 500,000 people in the suppression of the 1991 Sha’ban Intifadah, the mass arrests of dissidents, lack of freedom, economic pressure on the people, the killing of scholars and the rocket attacks on the holy sites must not be forgotten.”
