RNA – Hujjat al-Islam Nabil Qawouq, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, said, “Today, we are awaiting the upcoming parliamentary elections in Lebanon while facing an electoral situation which has gone from bad to worse and the crisis surrounding it is difficult and complex, especially as some political parties still continue their adventures and shrewd actions and don’t care about the fate of the country.”
The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric added that Hezbollah has stressed to all parties that relations between Hezbollah and its allies, especially the Amal Movement and the Free Patriotic Movement, are very strong and stable and those who are trying to create conflict between Hezbollah and its allies over the electoral law will not achieve anything except failure and frustration.
He noted that the increasing number of attacks by the media and the renewed sanctions against Hezbollah have been caused by the strength of the party and the increase of its victories in various fields.
“This is what worries Israel, the US and Saudi Arabia,” he said, pointing out that “the sanctions are not new to the party and will not change its position or harm it.”
In regard to the attack by the United States on Syria on Friday, Hujjat al-Islam Nabil Qawouq said, “The attack on the al-Shayrat Airbase was, in fact, the target and aspiration of Israel and was financed and encouraged by Saudi Arabia, who incited the US to continue its aggression on Syria.”
His Eminence said those encouraged Israel to invade Lebanon during the 2006 Lebanon War are the same individuals who are encouraging the US to invade Syria today and added, “We will not forget that in 2006, Saudi Arabia strived hard to defeat us and encouraged Israel to destroy the village of Bint Jubayl and the Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh.”
The senior member of Hezbollah added, “Today, this position hasn’t changed and this indicates that Saudi Arabia, Israel, the US and the al-Nusrah Front are all aligned against the Resistance Front in Syria.”
Hujjat al-Islam Nabil Qawouq said after the US faces defeats on the military front and on the battlefield after their recent act of aggression against Syria, which is part of the six-year war against Syria and was an attempt to drive the country to surrender and to change the positions of Hezbollah and Iran, the Resistance must prepare a massive response to this aggression and complete the war on the battlefield in order to completely destroy the al-Nusrah Front and Daesh in Syria.
He stressed, “We must do our part to complete this war, especially Hezbollah,” and added, “We have been present on the battlefield in the fight against the al-Nusrah Front and Daesh from before the US attack on Syria and will be continue to be present in the future, and this position will not change and victory is awaiting us.”
Hujjat al-Islam Nabil Qawouq stated, “Whenever we’re present in the Syrian conflict, our eyes are looking toward southern Lebanon and our hands are on the trigger so that Israel cannot attempt to exploit any opportunity to fulfill its wishes. The US attack on Syria poses a great danger for Lebanon and its territorial integrity.”
