RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Ahmad-Mohiyeddin Mirmorshedi, a former representative of the Supreme Leader in the Aerospace Force of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution, said “The animosity of the United States toward the Islamic Republic of Iran is a long-standing matter and this hostility isn’t related to the changes in the administrations in the US and Iran.”
The Iranian cleric said the existence of the Islamic Republic is the source of the US’ problem with our country and added that because of the US’ animosity toward Iran throughout the course of social and political change in Iran, Iran has witnessed the US efforts to overthrow the Islamic Revolution through various methods and forms since 1979.
“One of the ways in which they seek to overthrow Iran’s government is through spreading their influence in the management structure of the government and through employing elements to spread their influence in the decision-making institutions and organizations. This is one of the issues that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] has warned about,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Mirmorshedi stressed that due to the same issue, a pre-designed scenario is always on the US’ agenda and said, “Through this scenario, they seek ways subvert and overthrow Iran’s holy Islamic system as soon as possible and according to this perspective, the Americans have used different methods throughout the past several years.”
He said that the Iran-Iraq was imposed as part of a strategy of subversion through ‘hard war’ and said, “The efforts to incite the Iranian people in order to divide Iran is one of the enemies’ plots to overthrow Iran’s holy Islamic government. Issues such as their support for the forces of the hypocrites and terrorists which operate in Iran, the influence of spies and mercenaries in the major centres of the country, promotion of sedition, the activities of intelligence forces and electronic warfare are only some of the plots of the enemies.”
Hujjat al-Islam Mirmorshedi explained that “soft war” is one of the enemies’ key strategies enemies to deal with the Islamic Revolution and added, “The US seeks to achieve one of its plots through propagating Western culture via satellite and social networks. They sought to launch a ‘colour revolution’ in Iran, similar to the ‘Rose Revolution’ in Georgia which occurred in November 2003, in order to change the management structure in the country but they weren’t able to achieve their desired results.”
His Eminence said that Iranians have seen that every one of the US presidents have conspired and have pursued policies against Iran and the Islamic Revolution through various methods and noted, “Such policies haven’t just been executed by Donald Trump as it was Barack Obama who imposed a ban on the entrance of Iranians and several other Muslim countries.”
Hujjat al-Islam Mirmorshedi continued, saying that the sanctions that the Republicans approved were devised during the Obama administration and issues such as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the US’ deceit and intensifying of their sanctions against Iran and the Iranian people is a great stain on Obama’s agenda and it’s not true that Obama was benevolent toward Iran.
