RNA – Tehran’s Provisional Friday Prayers Leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Khatami, recommended the regime in Riyadh to put an end to its bloody military campaign against people of Yemen, saying the war crimes against civilians would only deepen the international hatred towards the Al Saud rulers.
“I recommend the Saudi government not to make its record darker and not damage the Islamic world,” Ayatollah Khatami said in an address to worshippers in Tehran on Friday.
If the Saudi kingdom does not stop such killings, it will attract more hatred and the slogan “death to Al Saud” will be heard more in the world, he added.
The cleric also lashed out at the US government for abetting the Saudi regime in committing crimes against Yemenis, and slammed the muted response by the international organizations as a factor encouraging the kingdom to shed more blood.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been launching deadly airstrikes on Yemen in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd-Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Nearly 11,000 Yemenis, including women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
