RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri offered his congratulations on the arrival of the Iranian year of 1396 and the advent of the holy month of Rajab and said, “Rajab is an opportunity to reform oneself and to begin a new path of servitude and prepare for the holy month of Ramadhan and the opportunity of this month must be used.”

The representative of the people of Bushehr in the Assembly of Experts honoured Islamic Republic Day, which marks the anniversary of the 1979 establishment of the Islamic Republic, and said, “God granted a golden opportunity on February 11, 1979, when the tyrant Shah, Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi, was overthrown and on April 1, 1979 when the Islamic Republic was established.”

“This is very great blessing. For the past 38 years, the Islamic system has persisted despite all the challenges it has faced and it continues with power,” he added.

He said that there hasn’t been one day where the United States’ Congress hasn’t worked against Iran but surprisingly, on the other hand, they have issued a Norouz message and added, “The sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran was established with overwhelming vote of the Iranian people. This nation made a covenant with the system, Imam Khomeini, its leadership and martyrs and are still loyal.”

Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri pointed to the name given by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei to the year 1396 – “Resistance Economy: Production and Employment” and added, “In 1395, the people spared no effort in regard to religious and revolutionary values and participated with a significant presence in various arenas and gave the arrogant powers a firm blow.”

The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said that in the year 1395 [2016-2017], there were some deficiencies in the economic and living conditions, particularly among those with a low-income, but in the 38 years since the Islamic Revolution, the Islamic system has served the people well.

He stressed that elections are one of the important pillars of democracy and added, “Elections are the source of dignity and honour for the nation and [on May 19], we’ll have presidential and parliamentary elections.”

Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri said that after the Supreme Leader, the president has the second-highest position and has broad powers and thus, the people should choose someone with accuracy and intelligence who is at the level of the Revolution. The parliament also has a prominent role in the country.

The representative of the people of Bushehr in the Assembly of Experts said people must seriously participate in the elections and those who have the capabilities can run as candidates.

“The candidates must avoid engaging in the Western methods of campaigning and the destruction of others and they must prevent foreigners from interfering in the elections because they aren’t compassionate people,” he stressed.

In conclusion, Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri said that the leaders of several Arab countries recently met at the Arab League summit in Jordan and said, “If their final statement is well studied, it’s certain that the US and Zionists are the organizers of this statement, meaning that the Arab countries had no part in this statement.”

“The enemies have been introduced in the place of the allies and the allies have been introduced in the place of enemies. I don’t know we should do with the leaders of these Arab countries, who are so neglectful. One day the people will wake and the fate of these individuals will be determined,” he stressed.
