RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Ali-Reza Arafi congratulated the believers on the birth anniversary of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra and on International Women’s Day, “In Islam, women have an important position and Islam’s progressive perspective in regard to law and morality is the best model for a healthy lifestyle and interaction between men and women in the modern era.”
The head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran added that the wrong and deviated path that Western countries have promoted for the women of the world today is a dead-end path which won’t satisfy us because women have a lofty social and divine place in Islam.
Ayatollah Arafi and noted that in Islam, we have role models like Lady Fatimah al-Zahra and Lady Zaynab as well as other women who can also be role models in the modern era.
He added that the system of rights of women and the family, the system of interaction between women and men in society, the various roles that women play in Islamic societies and the lofty spiritual position that Islam gives women are roles which must be conveyed to the world with complete honour and glory.
“The perspective of Islam in regard to women is that they have social, political, moral roles and at the same time, family also has an important role,” he said.
The head of al-Mustafa International University referred to the upcoming Norouz holiday, which marks the beginning of the new year 1396, and said that spring and the great changes in nature is very inspirational and exemplary. “Spring is the revival of nature, plants and is a sign of God’s mighty power and all the events in the world represents the power of God and the changing of nature must also return man toward resurrection and divine power,” he said.
Ayatollah Arafi said that the renewal of nature can be a model for the renewal of the human heart and soul and added that there are some traditions which are good according to Islamic standards, such as visiting family, removing grudges, improving family and family relationships, tourism and pilgrimage in the contexts which are acceptable to Islam.
In other remarks, he said that we have experienced great plots by the imperialist powers in the creation of religious conflict, occupation and aggression against the Muslim communities and added, “In Yemen, Bahrain, Iraq and Syria, we have witnessed all kinds of problems but with the grace of God and despite all the difficulties, the discourse of Islamic Revolution has shone in various fields. The Islamic Resistance has advanced and the evil of the enemies of Islam and the Takfiris has reduced and we hope this trend continues.”
He that we’re also concerned about the events occurring in Bahrain, its youth, people and Ayatollah Isa Qasim and said, “We hope that the chain of victories by the Resistance throughout the region to continue in a strong manner and that they achieve a final victory in the upcoming year.”
In conclusion, Ayatollah Arafi stated that the US’ recent intervention in Syria is contrary to the principles of international law and condemned the hostile policies of this country.
