Representative of Ayatollah al-Sistani in Karbala:
Rasa – Hujjat al-Islam al-Karbala’i noted the establishment of a task force in Karbala in order to provide financial and logistical support to assist the people of Nineveh Governorate and in the city of Mosul.

RNA – Hujjat al-Islam Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbala’i, the representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani in the Iraqi holy city of Karbala, has met with a group of Sunni scholars from Iraq’s western al-Anbar Governorate and said “Iraqi scholars, preachers and Islamic thinkers must maintain their unity against Daesh.”


The Iraqi scholar added that the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group has tarnished the image of Islam and for this reason, religious scholars must introduce authentic Islam to the world.


He said that the root of all Daesh’s actions and crimes are the result of deviation from authentic Islam.


Hujjat al-Islam al-Karbala’i stated that providing aid to refugees as “essential” and noted the establishment of a task force in Karbala in order to provide financial and logistical support to assist the people of Nineveh Governorate and in the city of Mosul.


The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn stressed that Ayatollah al-Sistani has worked hard to assist the refugees and in this regard, people living in war-affected areas have received assistance through many different ways.

Umar al-Hanafi, a member of the Association of Sunni Scholars of Iraq, described the purpose of this meeting with Hujjat al-Islam al-Karbala’i as an effort to strengthen approximation between Islamic sects.


“Hujjat al-Islam al-Karbala’i is one of the leading Iraqi personalities and he always speaks in the path of moderation and in regard to Iraq’s national interests,” he said.


al-Hanafi added that Ayatollah al-Sistani is like a tent and which the Iraqi people benefit from the shade of this tent.


The member of the Association of Sunni Scholars of Iraq stressed upon the need to preserve unity among Muslims and said, “Under the nobility of Ayatollah al-Sistani, the Iraqi people must protect their unity and not allow the enemies to achieve their sinister goals to divide the country.”
