RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri referred to the Rahiyan-e Nour [Path of Light] camp wherein Iranian students visit the battlefields of the 1980-1988 Iraq-Iraq War and said, “The youth are familiarized with the sacrifices and dedication of soldiers who lost their lives in the fight against Ba’athist Iraq during these camps.”
The representative of the people of Bushehr in the Assembly of Experts added, “By travelling to these regions, the youth learn that in opposition to the enemies, we mustn’t feel weakness and inability. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] said that whenever we show weakness against the enemies in various aspects, the enemies are able to advance.”
He said we mustn’t convey a spirit of weakness to the enemies and noted that one of the characteristics of the Iran-Iraq War was that Iran fought alone against the whole world. “The war launched groups against us but the veterans and people of Iran came forth and created a glorious event,” he said.
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri said, “The Supreme Leader pointed out that the many enemies who have stood against us have accused Iran of opposing human rights for years, introduced us of terrorists and say that Iran opposes women’s rights. In this regard, the Leader stated that we must be defensive in opposition to the enemies rather than offensive.”
He pointed out that according to his own words, Donald Trump, the new president of the United States, wants to prevent Iranian citizens, along with the citizens of several other Muslim countries, from travelling to the US.
“The crimes of Iran and other countries is that the enemies raise the issues of terrorism and human rights but the dark human rights records of the US and its forces in the Middle East are so black that there is nothing left but hatred,” he said.
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri added that when many people in Yemen, Syria and Iraq are being killed and at that time, is this not a violation of human rights?
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom stressed, “Who are the founders of terrorism in the region besides the US and its mercenaries to who offer financial and military support resources to the terrorists? Our nation will defend its rights but they introduce Iran as a terrorist regime.”
“We look forward to the day of victory wherein the Iranian nation will destroy all conspiracies against it,” he added.
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri noted that between 3,200 and 5,000 people were killed in the tragedy of Halabjah where the former Iraqi tyrant, Saddam Husayn, used Western-provided aircraft to bomb the people of this city in Iraqi Kurdistan with chemical weapons. Between seven and ten thousand people were injured but no one defended them.
