RNA – Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani met with Iraj Masjedi, the new Iranian ambassador to Iraq, at the office of the revered source of emulation in the Iranian holy city of Qom on March 9.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that Iran and Iraq should place greater emphasis on Muslim unity and said, “If Muslims were united with each other, today such achieved wouldn’t have been made today.”
He added that every blow that the enemies strike against Islam and Muslims is meant to create dissension through various means and added that Iraq has a specific position because the holy shrines are located here.
“Whenever Iran and Iraq are united with each other, the greater the benefits for Islam and Muslim will be,” he said.
Referring to the presence of Iranian pilgrims at the shrines of the Ahlul-Bayt in Iraq, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said the welfare of these pilgrims must be provided and their dignity and respect must be protected so that the pilgrims can have a safe and peaceful pilgrimage.
The revered teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom added that Iran’s Islamic Revolution has affected the entire world and has created many movements and added, “The Islamic Resistance’s stance against the imperialists and Zionists is a very important issue and the power of the Resistance has been established in the light of unity.”
His Eminence pointed to the success of the Islamic Resistance Front and the Popular Mobilization Forces in the fight against Daesh and said, “These victories are very important and these campaigns must continue with preparation until final victory is achieved.”
“Death is that which the man sits and the enemies extend their hand and life is that which man dies for in order that the enemies cannot overcome them,” he said.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that with Iran’s assistance, the Iraqi forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces have made good gains and were able to achieve victory in Mosul.
“Care must be taken so that the terrorists don’t not escape and infiltrate again,” he added.
On his behalf, Ambassador Masjedi said that the latest front in the war against terror is the battle for Mosul and in this regard we have achieved good results.
He added that in western Mosul, clashes are continuing and if the Takfiri terrorists there fall, there will be security and safety for the Iraqi people and pilgrims.
Tehran’s ambassador to Baghdad noted that the Iraqi government has good cooperation with Iran and added that because of the 1,400 kilometre border between the two countries, Iran and Iraq must increase their cooperation and this issue is very important.
