RNA – Speaking during his Quranic Exegesis class at Esfahan’s Amir al-Mominin Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Mazaheri said that there are 100 verses in the Holy Quran which mention the “Children of Israel” and noted that this is because of the great influence that they had in the Muslims’ affairs during the time of the Prophet Muhammad.
“The Children of Israel were well-accepted politically, economically and socially among the Arab people,” he said.
The head of the Islamic Seminary of Esfahan said that the Jews settled in Hejaz with the pretext of helping the awaited Last Prophet but after the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad in Madinah, wherein he was warmly welcomed by the people, the Jewish tribes in the city began to sabotage his mission and the disputes became so widespread that Muslims and Jews signed a treaty that they wouldn’t work with each other.
“After the signing of this treaty, the Muslims made great advancements and such advancements led to great differences between Jews and Muslims,” he said.
Ayatollah Mazaheri said that the wide discrepancies between Muslims and Jews were the result of 84 wars between them and added, “The Jews were not involved directly in the war but by providing the facilities and engaging in acts of mischief and espionage, they assisted the pagans and infidels in these wars.”
The teacher of ethics in the Islamic Seminary explained that after the Muslims achieved many victories, the animosity of the Jews increased until their economic, social and political prestige was defeated and their efforts against Islam were destroyed.
He stressed that American officials are puppets of global Zionism and added, “Currently, the Americans’ plans in various countries have suffered due to their following of the harmful commands of the Jews and Zionism is the reason for the dissension in the world today.”
Ayatollah Mazaheri referred to verse 41 of Surah al-Baqarah which states “…and do not be the first ones to deny it…” and said that this verse means that the blasphemy of the Jews and their opposition to Islam isn’t apparent but rather their blasphemy is from behind the scenes from wherein they assist the front of disbelief.
In continuation of this verse, which states “and do not sell My signs for a paltry gain, and be wary of Me [alone],” His Eminence said that God addresses the Jews, saying that they mustn’t easily lose the great blessings that He has given them – the economic, social and political prestige that they enjoy.
“However, the Jews didn’t listen to the advice of the Quran and because of their stubbornness and ambitions of power, they lost these great blessings,” Ayatollah Mazaheri stated.
