RNA – In an interview with the Lebanese news network, al-Mayadeen, Hujjat al-Islam Naim Qasim, the deputy secretary-general of Hezbollah, spoke about the Sixth International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada which conclude on Wednesday in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
Speaking on the sidelines of the two-day conference, the senior Lebanese cleric stressed that Iran has always placed the issue of Palestine as its top priority.
Hujjat al-Islam Qasim said the Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has stressed that the Palestine is Iran’s focal point and that Palestine cannot be abandoned.
“Iran will also continue to provide money, weapons and media support to the Palestinian resistance,” he emphasized.
The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric added that the level of support by the participants in the International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada demonstrates their preparedness and willingness to provide further support to the Resistance.
His Eminence said that from day one, Hezbollah has set its focus towards Palestine and noted, “The Zionist entity shouldn’t be present in the Middle East and the defeat of this regime is possible. Palestine will be freed by the hands of its heroic people and we will support them and we will be there for them. Hezbollah is working with all resistance groups without discrimination and we are ready to offer further support.”
Hujjat al-Islam Qasim said that Hezbollah acts and makes decisions in a completely independent manner and makes decisions without being dictated to.
In regard to Syria, he said that Hezbollah determines when it will withdraw from Syria and added that this is associated with an agreement with the Syrian government and the return to Syria of its people. “When we can guarantee the survival of Syria, then the Resistance can withdraw,” he said.
Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General added that the unity of the leadership, the foundations and approach of the Islamic Resistance against the occupiers has led to closeness between Hezbollah and Iran.
Hujjat al-Islam Qasim added that due to the support given by the United States and other Western powers and due to its possession of hundreds of nuclear warheads, the Zionist regime has not been questioned or held accountable.
The International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada, which was attended by around 700 foreign guests from dozens of countries and representatives of pro-Palestinian organizations, wrapped up on Wednesday with a statement that voiced support for the rights of the Palestinian nation and underlined the need for an end to Israel’s nearly seven decades of occupation.
