RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri referring to the fire and collapse of Tehran’s Plasco building and the loss of life of a number of dedicated firefighters and said, “The firefighters entered the blaze in dedication to protecting the lives and property of the people and were martyred in this tragedy.”
The representative of the people of Bushehr in the Assembly of Experts added that despite this tragic tragedy, the spirit of sacrifice, unity, dedication and demonstration of solidarity and national unity, the authorities should have the necessary care and surveillance so that we don’t witness another bitter tragedy like this one.
He said that this tragedy created a strange spirit of solidarity and demonstrated the Iranian people’s national unity to the world that if a tragedy occurs on the part of the Islamic Republic, the people of the country will stand alongside the victims and assist them.
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri referred to statement issued by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in the wake of the tragedy and criticized the revenge and settling personal and political accounts in regard to this national issue and stated, “Ayatollah Khamenei said that the care and relief work should precede all other actions and investigating the situation of buildings is an important issue because there are many buildings facing the same situation in the country.”
In other remarks, the member of the Supreme Council of Islamic Seminaries congratulated the people on the upcoming 38th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and said that some people respect the Islamic Revolution because they have positions in the government but the late Imam Khomeini had particular features and a special place among the people.
He said that the 1979 Islamic Revolution tried to protect the people’s achievements and they resisted against the enemies in this manner and passed very difficult trials with honour. The Islamic Republic has made great progress despite the most difficult conditions it has faced.
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri added that the faithful Iranian people are committed to their covenant with the Supreme Leader and the system of Wilayat al-Faqih [Guardianship of Jurisprudent] and suffered many difficulties along the way. Today Iran has a special place in the region and the world.
“Iran has the first word in the region, especially in regard to the current situation in Syria and the fight against terrorism, and the British government has said that Iran must be pushed back. This indicates their fear over Iran and its influence,” he said.
His Eminence stressed that the stability and strength of the Islamic Republic of Iran should be appreciated and said that Iran’s enemies are weak and Iran is getting stronger and noted, “Our task today is the revolutionary movement, which is based on the ideals of Imam Khomeini. For this reason, the revolutionary movement must be protected among the people and in the seminaries in order to bring the country to prosperity.”
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri said that at the recent peace talks in the Kazakh capital of Astana, Iran, Russia and Turkey agreed that there is no military solution to the five-year-long war in Syria and this reflects the influence and power of the Islamic Republic.
