RNA – Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, the Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, urged seminaries to train informed students about the world today and its events.

Touching upon the fundamental importance of seminaries and their influential role in the world, the head of Iran’s top unity organisation said, “Today seminary students are totally different from students in the past.”

“As for the global changes, the standing information networks, and special situation in communicative technologies through which all countries are connected and influence each other, it is incumbent upon seminaries and faith schools to forward the foresaid mission,” the renowned cleric stated.

“Our thinkers and scientists should be introduced to scientific centers worldwide,” Ayatollah Araki stressed, detailing his views on the current status of Iranian thinkers in some educational areas such as Islamic philosophy.

Ayatollah Araki noted that, “Islamic philosophy is an example in which Iranian thinkers have advanced in and overtake the scientists from different Islamic countries – even Egypt.”

The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought urged clerics, thinkers and students to gain wisdom, with enthusiastic devotion to their set duties and responsibilities.

The new educational system in the seminaries should foster a genuine understanding of religion and belief. “In this regard, we can come up with this conclusion that religious schools and seminaries are an important part of our diverse education system,” he said.

According to Ayatollah Araki, in this regard, seminarians, thinkers and clerics should not bow out of their missions and answering the peoples’ questions is not a mindless task and scholars should be careful in this arena.

According to him, clerics should continue shouldering the responsibility and Muslims should not have a dismissive attitude towards Islamic instructions.
