RNA – Speaking at al-Zahra University in Qom, Iran, Ayatollah Mortaza Moqtadaei said that this women’s seminary is enjoying some unique features since it was founded by the visionary insights of the late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution.
The Vice Chairman of the Society of Seminary teachers further added, “In the early years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini recognized the growing need in the society for a women’s seminary school to be established.”
“He thought such a seminary would be essential to educate Muslim women on Islamic sciences as well as the Ahlul-Bayt’s doctrine aiming to answer the religious inquiries and guide women towards Islamic teachings,” he added.
Ayatollah Moqtadaei said, “During these past years, al-Zahra University has seen great progress in terms of its infrastructure as well as its educational programs.”
Referring to the fact that al-Zahra University is a scientific and religious centre located in the city of the Ahlul-Bayt, he said, “The presence of this women’s Islamic seminary in Qom is considered as another unique feature.”
Reiterating that thousands of Iranian and foreign students have graduated from al-Zahra University, Ayatollah Moqtadaei concluded, “al-Zahra University, seminary students have served the cause of Islam and Ahlul-Bayt for so many years.”
