RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Iraqi city of Najaf’s al-Fatimiyah al-Kubra Husayniyah, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadruddin al-Qubanchi described former Iranian president and chairman of the Expediency Discernment Council, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani, who passed away on January 8th, as one of the pillars and founders of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Iraqi scholar said that the enemies seek to create divisions and dissension in Iran after the death of Ayatollah Hashemi-Rafsanjani but with the wisdom, insight and knowledge displayed by Iranian leaders and through their vigilance, the Iranian people have demonstrated their unity and have frustrated the enemies’ plots.

In regard to an agreement reached between Iraq with Turkey wherein Turkey agreed to the total withdrawal of all Turkish soldiers illegally stationed in the town of Ba’shiqah‎‎ near Mosul, he urged Ankara “to adhere to its commitments and withdraw its troops from Iraq.”

Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi expressed hope that Turkey would adhere to good neighbourly relations with Iraq.

In other remarks, he praised the advancement of military units in the operation to liberate the city of Mosul and called on the Arab, Islamic and international communities to assist Iraq in rebuilding war-torn areas and added that “victory is close.”

His Eminence also praised the international cooperation in regard to the liberation of Iraqi territory from the clutches of the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi noted that federal police forces are currently clearing liberated areas of improvised explosive devices and added that it is “the responsibility of all of us to stand with the families of martyrs and wounded.”

The revered scholar stressed that the terrorist attack that targeted the Jamilah Market in Baghdad’s Sadr City on January 8th will not deter the resolve and determination of Iraqi forces to continue their operation to liberate Mosul and added that the Iraqi people “do not fear death and testify that their dignity comes from God.”

He said that after the defeat of Daesh, the situation in Iraq will be much better than the current situation and the civil and ethnic war in the country will end and the residents of al-Anbar Governorate will be able to return to their homes.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi added that currently, the Popular Mobilization Forces and officials are rebuilding the areas destroyed in the war.
