RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad-Hoseyn Talebi, the head of the Department of Law at Qom’s Hawzah and University Research Institute, said that political issues are one of the dimensions of personal and social life of human beings and these dimensions are important and must be given consideration.

The researcher in the Islamic Seminary said that in the Islamic Republic of Iran after the enactment of laws by the legislative institutions such as Guardian Council, whose members are jurists and grand ayatollahs, laws are evaluated for their compliance with the standards and Islamic law and for this reason, none of Iran’s laws are contrary to the provisions of Islamic law.

“In this regard, the system of an Islamic government based on the concept of Wilayat al-Faqih [Guardianship of the Jurisprudent] that we have in Iran is the most complete and perfect form of democracy,” he stressed.

Hujjat al-Islam Talebi explained that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a full-fledged democracy and a perfect Islamic system. There is no compulsion in this regard and it is the people’s right to participate in the country’s elections and choose the Supreme Leader or elect the Leader through their representatives in the Assembly of Experts and choose their representatives in the Islamic Consultative Assembly as well as their president through elections.

His Eminence said that Iran’s Islamic system has conditions and measures and is compatible with Islamic law and added, “In fact, the Islamic system of government in Iran is one of the most important forms of democracy and is one of the most advanced systems of government in the entire world. This is a right that we have and thanks to God, we have this system in our country and we are making use of it and defending it.”

He explained that from a political perspective, we must not allow ourselves to fall into the factional issues which exist in all countries and we must allow practical actions to eclipse factional issues.

Hujjat al-Islam Talebi explained that we must act in an Islam manner, which is to take into consider the characteristics of a Muslim and not the characteristics of a faction or act such a way which violates the rights of individuals and said, “If we disregard those who are not in our party or spectrum, this is considered factionalism.”

The Iranian scholar said that if someone accepts Islamic principles, politics and the principles of Wilayat al-Faqih but if we disregard him and say that he is not like-minded and doesn’t accept all these principles, this is incorrect.

“Unfortunately, we have witnessed such behaviour where someone who has valuable knowledge and accepts our principles but because he isn’t like-minded, he is easily disregarded. Such behaviour is not Islamic,” Hujjat al-Islam Talebi said.
