RNA – An event celebrating the first anniversary of the victory of the Sayyed al-Shohada Unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps in the theatre of operation of the northern Syrian village of Khan Tuman has been held at Tehran’s Ark Mosque with the families of the martyrs and veterans of this operation.
In this event, Dr. Hoseyn Allahkaram, the head of the Institute of American Studies at the University of Tehran, explained the that today we are witnessing a war of beliefs and added that Iran’s Islamic Revolution doesn’t recognize any borders.
He added that the Revolution was established by the weak and barefoot and is still maintained by the same people. During the Iran-Iraq War we also saw the same people present on the frontlines and those hadn’t experienced poverty were bystanders.
Dr. Allahkaram said that today, the Revolution is also protected by the weak and barefoot and the rich are the bystanders and added, “How does a wealthy official defend the Revolution? They are bystanders who want power in their hands.”
In another part of his speech, he stressed that as a first step, the terrorists supported by the United States and the West want to destroy the shrines of Ahlul-Bayt and as a second step, they want to destroy the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The scholar in American studies added that Daesh is an un-Islamic Takfiri terrorist group which has committed crimes in the name of Sunnism. “The West wanted to use Daesh to create divisions between Sunni and Shi’ah Muslims while Sunnis have also been the victims of these terrorists.”
Dr. Allahkaram noted that terrorist groups had reached up to 400 metres from Syrian President Bashar al-Asad in Damascus and added that they even sought to destroy the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus.
He said the enemies sought to capture Damascus and even captured many parts of the city and for this reason when our forces were deployed there, the war had started from the airport.
The head of the Hezbollah Coordination Council pointed out that terrorists had attacked Syria from four sides and stressed that 75% of Aleppo had fallen into the hands of the terrorists and the liberation of the city is considered a miracle.
Dr. Allahkaram pointed out that the liberation of Aleppo had a great impact on the liberation of Khan Tuman. “For this same reason, the enemies sought to prevent the liberation of Aleppo and targeted Khan Tuman,” he said.
He added that the importance of the liberation of Aleppo was similar to the importance of the liberation of Khorramshahr and added, “Victory in the Syrian war is dependent on the liberation of Aleppo and the people of this city have supported in this operation.”
