Rasa – The Head of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati issued a condolence message on demise of former president Ayatollah Hashemi-Rafsanjani on Sunday.
RNA – The death of Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani, the longstanding companion of the late Imam Khomeini, caused grief in our hearts.
“He tolerated great pain during the Pahlavi regime and was helpful and active after the Islamic Revolution holding important positions as Speaker of the Parliament, president, head of the Expediency Council and Chairman of the Assembly of Experts,” reads the message.
“I express my condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, and family of Ayatollah Rafsanjani-Hashemi and pray for God’s mercy and forgiveness for him,” Ayatollah Jannati said.
