RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi referred to the events of December 30, 2009, which marked the end of the 2009 post-election sedition, as a “Day of God” and said that on this day, the discerning people of Iran came forth and didn’t allow the seditionists to continue their improper actions.
The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah added that after the June 2009 presidential election, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, repeatedly stressed that if there are any objections and concerns, they should be pursued through legal ways but the leaders of sedition continued on their path of insolence until the people participated in the epic December 30 pro-government demonstrations.
He stated that the Leader reminded them in a benevolent manner but the seditionists adopted such a path under the guidance of Western oppressors and publicly declared that they have targeted the principles of Iran’s Islamic government and want to overthrow it.
His Eminence said that throughout 2009, the seditionists damaged public property and put the country into crisis and even had the audacity to attack religious sanctities and values such as mourning ceremonies and Imam Husayn but in this regard, the Leader with his strong leadership and cognizance, tried to enlighten the people so that they could understand what was happening and separate the ‘party of God’ from the ‘party of Satan.’
Ayatollah Sa’idi said that the seditionists inflicted a lot damage on Iran and such actions represent the enemies’ greed and in this regard, the enemies increased sanctions and pressures against the Islamic Republic in order to force it to succumb to their will but due to divine favour and the wisdom of the Leader along with the insight of the people, the seditionists were exposed and didn’t receive any return.
The renowned scholar said that the sedition of today is the enemies’ attempts to make the Iranian people trust in the criminal US and said that during the events of 2009, the roots of sedition were outside Iran but a large number of seditionists also operated from inside the country.
Ayatollah Sa’idi said that some governments are outwardly Islamic but in reality, they are working toward the same goals of the imperialist powers and such countries haven’t fired a single bullet against the Zionist usurpers but are committing crimes in Islamic countries such as Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
He pointed to the recent victories of the Resistance Front and said, “Fortunately, the great victory of the Islamic Resistance in Aleppo defeated the great plots led by the imperial powers and we’re hopeful that this victory is the starting point for complete victory over the terrorists and complete security in the region.
