RNA - The Chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sheikh Ammar al-Hakim, visited the Mar Youssef Church of Iraq along with some members of the Supreme council of Iraq to congratulate Christmas celebrations.

“Differences in people’s faith, religion, ethnicity and political views can be a cause of strength,” he noted, during his speech.

Sheikh Ammar al-Hakim reiterated that all the Abrahamic religions complement one another and the honorable birthday of Jesus (PBUH) can be an opportunity for us to think about the blessings of this holy prophet.

“The officials of the national coalition of Iraq’s visit to Iraqi churches shows the tendency of Iraqi officials toward spreading peace, kindness and coordination between people of different religions,” he added.

“It’s a pleasure for us,” he said, “to see Christians, living inside the areas which have been recently freed from the hands of ISIS, celebrating Christmas.”

He reiterated that the post-ISIS Iraq needs a comprehensive plan to follow for the future of the country.
