RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Iraqi holy city of Karbala’s Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn, Hujjat al-Islam Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbala’i referred to the birth anniversaries of the Prophet Muhammad and Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq and added that in these holy days, we have witnessed the victory of the security forces, Popular Mobilization Forces and tribal forces against the Daesh Takfiri terrorist phenomenon and the return of dignity to Iraq.

 

The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani in Karbala emphasized that the ultimate victory over the terrorists is near and added, “In these days when the weather is extremely cold, the Iraqi warriors have been in the desert facing harsh conditions in order to defend Islam and sacrificing their lives to defend their country.”

 

Hujjat al-Islam al-Karbala’i expressed satisfaction over the joint celebration of the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad by various communities throughout Iraq and stated, “This year, we have witnessed participation by various groups and sects in the celebration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad throughout the country. I hope that God brings the hearts of the followers of the various groups and sects closer to each other.”

 

The Iraqi cleric noted the regrettable situation of the Islamic world and said, “Sadly, we have witnessed the killing of hundreds of thousands of people and the displacement of millions of others from their home regions and countries.”

 

Hujjat al-Islam al-Karbala’i described the destruction of natural resources and houses as “shameful” and added, “On behalf of the current situation in the Islamic world, we should be ashamed to God, the Prophet Muhammad and humanity about our excommunication and suppression of each other.”

 

He stressed on the need to end the problems and crises in Iraq and stated, “The Iraqi people must turn a new page of peace and must avoid open conflict and discord.”
