RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Hasan Alemi, a member of Iran's Assembly of Experts, spoke about the extension of the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) by both the United States’ Senate and House of Representatives for another ten years.
He stressed upon the necessity for Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials to deal with the violations against the JCPOA in an authoritative manner, saying, “Whenever we deal with the enemies in an authoritative manner we have been able to defend our interests and whenever we are weak or conservative or move away from the revolutionary spirit, we have suffered.”
The Iranian cleric said: “It is a source of pride for us that throughout the history of the Islamic Revolution, the authorities have always resisted against the enemies through their slogans and this trend should continue because otherwise, they must be held accountable before God and the people.”
Ayatollah Alemi said that some people within Iran believe there are differences between the Democratic and Republican parties in the US and suppose that one party is more pro-Iranian than the other.
“Those who think in this manner must understand and seriously review and consider that the people understand the truth,” he noted.
His Eminence addressed those who have a pro-West orientation and pointed out that over the past 37 years since the victory of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, both Democrats and Republicans have come to power many times since then. “But what difference have we seen between the views of both in regard to the Islamic Revolution except that both parties have committed themselves to supporting Israel and since we are the enemy of Israel, they are opposed to Iran,” he said.
He said that the revolutionary spirit, perseverance and unparalleled power and strength of the people and the Supreme Leader against the imperialist powers is the principle capital of the officials to respond decisively to the violations of the JCPOA and said, “The past few months since the JCPOA has been implemented has been a lesson for all of us that the US cannot be trusted in any way.”
Ayatollah Alemi referred to the continued emphasis by Ayatollah Khamenei on the unreliability of the US and noted, “On the basis of the Leader’s orders, the correct understanding and analysis of the situation and the spirit of the Americans and their policies is such that we see that most of his analyzes have been fulfilled. The authorities should give greater attention to the guidance of the Leader.”
