RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Khatami, a member of the board of the Assembly of Experts, referred to the statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in his meeting with the people of Esfahan province on Wednesday November 16, and said, “The guidelines of the Supreme Leader are profound guidelines which are very worthy of analysis.”
The senior Iranian cleric and politician added that Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that “we neither mourn nor celebrate” the election of Donald Trump as the new president of the United States and some people within the country have been distressed by the election of Trump.
Ayatollah Khatami stated that some people in the world welcomed the failure of Hillary Clinton in the November 8th election and some welcomed the election of Trump but the firm policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is that they are the same.
The member of the Supreme Council of Islamic Seminaries added that “neither Trump nor Clinton are good for Iran” and added, “In regard to this position, it is worthy of attention for those who want to know the policy of the Islamic Republic. Another point is that the Supreme Leader stressed that ‘we are prepared for all possible conditions.’”
He said that the explanation of all the current conditions is that, at most, the enemies will intensify the sanctions against Iran. Such that we have resisted so far, from now on we must continue our resistance because they have said that “all options are on the table.”
Ayatollah Khatami said one of the hostile actions launched by the enemies against Iran was the eight-year-long Iran-Iraq War in regard to which Iranians prepared themselves for such conditions. This line is the line of wilayah [guardianship].
