RNA – During a visit to Rasa News HQ in Qom, Shaykh Maher Abdul-Razzaq, the president of the Lebanon’s Reform and Unity Movement, said that the pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine of Imam Husayn in the Iraqi city of Karbala on Arba’in has become one of the religious symbols and rituals of Muslims.
The Lebanese Sunni cleric that the history of Islam has been the light on the path of Muslims from the past until the present will build the future of the Islamic ummah and added, “The Arba’in pilgrimage has an enormous capacity for the establishment of a united Islamic ummah and to combat the Takfiri-Zionist ideology and thus, we must take advantage of this blessed ceremony to the fullest extent.”
Shaykh Abdul-Razzaq added that we must use any historical and religious events and occasions to create unity in the Islamic ummah and also use the important issues in the Islamic world. “Unfortunately, in the face of the Zionist-American schemes, we have witnessed a journey toward regression by the Islamic ummah and even some Arab countries have done irreparable acts of betrayal in this arena,” the renowned scholar said.
He added that one of his biggest goals of any leader who is responsible for guiding the Muslim community must be based on upholding the pride and victory of the Islamic ummah and resistance against the oppressors and the defence of the oppressed.
His Eminence emphasized the need to use the capacities of Arba’in in order to explain the important issues in the Islamic world and noted that the Palestinian issue should never be forgotten.
In this regard, Shaykh Abdul-Razzaq explained that the Zionist enemy will do whatever they can to prevent the Islamic nation from thinking about the Palestinian issue and added, “All problems, crises and conflicts in the Islamic world are part of this same goal and thus, we must use the great social gathering of Arba’in to revitalize the Palestinian issue and the Islamic Republic of Iran is leading efforts in this direction.”
The president of the Lebanon’s Reform and Unity Movement criticized some satellite and media outlets which support the Zionist enemies by portraying the Arba’in pilgrimage as a completely political issue and stressed that this idea is deeply flawed and dangerous because we don’t see Arba’in as just a religious commemoration but we also view it as a movement which can lead to Islamic unity.
Shaykh Abdul-Razzaq stressed that strength and power in the Islamic world must belong to all Muslims and not just to a particular religious sect or group and said, “The actions that the Islamic Republic of Iran does to honour the Islamic ummah don’t only belong to the people of Iran or the Shi’ah school of though, but rather they belong to all Muslims and demonstrate the strength of all Muslims and we consider ourselves as partner in these efforts.”
