RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Ahmad Hoseyn-Khorasani said that according to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, some people are ignorant or malicious in regard to the objectives of the anti-American stance taken by the founder of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, Imam Ruhollah Khomeini.
The representative of Razavi Khorasan province in the Assembly of Experts said that some individuals claim that Imam Khomeini’s animosity and uncompromising stance toward the United States was due to personal and private reasons and not due to religious or Islamic principles or national and revolutionary interests.
Hujjat al-Islam Hoseyni-Khorasani said that the answer to this absurdity is that if someone takes Imam Khomeini’s stance against the US’ bullying, selfish and aggressive polices throughout the history of his political life into consideration, from the Capitulation Law of 1964 until after the 1979 Islamic Revolution and through to the last years of his life, it is clear that Imam Khomeini mentioned the reasons for his opposition to the US.
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom added that Imam Khomeini emphasized that the main agent in all the betrayals and crimes against the Iranian nation and its national interests throughout modern history has been the US.
“The Americans have plotted coups d’états, mischief and provocations, sedition, war against Iran and even today their immorality, negligence and abuse have created dissatisfaction and pessimism among the Iranian people,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Hoseyni-Khorasani said that due to these reasons, Imam Khomeini said that the US is an enemy of the first degree and added that the basis of the US’ animosity toward Iran is due to its independence, freedom and adherence to Islam which threatens the interests of the oppressors.
He added that friendship and reconciliation with the US is not acceptable under any circumstances unless the US is transformed and abandons its policies of imperialism and greed. “The roots of Imam Khomeini’s opposition to the US are based on the Quran, the spirit of Islam and the essence of religion,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Hoseyni-Khorasani pointed out that some people say that solving Iran’s economic, political and management problems depends on building rapport and compromise with the US and desisting from anti-imperialistic rhetoric.
“Such people are wrong and waiting for help from the US and having hope for cooperation from the US is a gross error and blunder and a great betrayal of the Iranian nation, religion and Islamic system of government,” he stressed.
